Beer Descriptions

regular beers <
- Provider Pale Ale - A delicious pale ale,
amber in color with a hoppy nose and touch of bitterness. This
beer is brewed with Marris Otter barley malt and dark crystal
malt. Hopping is a little wacky - we use Bullion, Target, Cascade,
Perle, and Liberty hops. (abv: 5.2 % | original gravity: 1053)
- Farmer Brown - One of the most popular beers we brew; this is
our version of traditional brown ale. A truly tasty beer, Farmer
Brown is low in bitterness with a smooth and malty finish. Like
its namesake, it's outstanding in its field! (abv: 5.4% | original
gravity: 1061)
- Extra Special Bitter (ESB) - A classic example of an ESB,
where the sweetness of the barley malt balances the slight bitterness
provided by Target and Golding hops. We add East Kent Goldings
during secondary fermentation; this process of "dry-hopping" provides
a distinct, flowery aroma to the beer. (abv: 5.1 % | original
gravity: 1057)
- Brakeshoe Porter - A dark and roasty ale without the dryness
of a stout. The roasted malt and mild hop presence make for a
delicious drink with minimal bitterness. This beer is served cask
conditioned from our hand-pumped beer engine. (abv: 5.2 % | original
gravity: 1054)
- Pied pIPA - One sip and it's music to your ears - you'll
follow this India Pale Ale anywhere. For hop lovers out there,
this is your beer. We brew it with a wall of fresh Cascade (abv:
5.7% | original gravity: 1061)
- Oatmeal Stout - Brewed with healthy doses of chocolate and black
patent malts, this delightful beer is as black as the cold night
sky but its robust flavor and smooth finish will warm you to the
core. (abv: 5.1% | original gravity: 1057)
> seasonal beers <
Impeachment Porter - A "ghost" beer made by using the remaining
residual sugars (the second runnings) from our Imperial Stout.
In an experimental and unorthodox move, we added 120 pounds of
local peaches. Let's hope you and the Democrats keep this one
on the table. (abv: 3.7% | original gravity: 1039)
Imperial Stout - Big, bold, & strong; this is our interpretation
of a British style intended for export to the Russian Empire.
A heavy bodied stout with strong flavors of roasted malt and alcohol
balanced with a blend of European and American hops (100 IBU).
Truly a brew fit for a Czar. (abv: 9.2% | original gravity: 1110)
Slippery Slope - A much awaited winter tradition; this is brewed
in the style of an English "Braggert." Made with local apple cider,
honey, barley malt and fresh ginger, and weighing in at 9% alcohol
by volume. It's served in 12 oz glasses so as to minimize your
possible loss of traction. (abv: 9.0% | original gravity: 1083)
Scotch Ale - A sweet, dark, and malty ale with just enough UK
Target hops to balance the sweetness. (abv: 7% | original gravity:
1074)
Natural Blonde - Blonde ale - an American tradition - light, crisp
and clean with just enough hops to remind you that it's a People's
Pint beer. (abv: 4.3% | original gravity: 1042) |
